Company description

Moonlit leverages advanced technologies to process and transform raw legal publications from hundreds of official sources across various jurisdictions into structured and interconnected legal intelligence. By applying millions of data enrichments, Moonlit ensures comprehensive and accurate legal insights for its clients. The platform offers users seamless access to this intelligence through an intuitive interface or API integration. Moonlit is at the forefront of innovating the legaltech space to improve efficiency and accuracy in legal research and operations.

The role

Moonlit maintains a rapidly growing legal dataset covering many jurisdictions. As a legal working student you will help improve the quality and completeness of this dataset.

Your primary task will be enriching legal data and validating corrections submitted by users of the Moonlit platform. This requires strong legal research skills and curiosity about legal systems beyond your own jurisdiction.

Many issues involve jurisdiction-specific nuances that are not immediately visible in the source material. You will therefore regularly research foreign legal systems and coordinate with local experts to verify interpretations or clarify local legal quirks.

The work sits at the intersection of law, data and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Enrich legal datasets with structured legal metadata
  • Validate corrections and feedback submitted by Moonlit users
  • Research legal materials across multiple jurisdictions
  • Identify jurisdiction-specific legal structures and procedural details
  • Coordinate with local experts when clarification is needed
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in Moonlit’s legal data model

What we look for

  • Law student in Masters phase
  • Strong legal research skills and attention to detail
  • Clear interest in AI and legal technology
  • Curiosity about comparative law and international legal systems
  • Comfortable working with structured data and databases
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to work independently with a pragmatic pace

Practical requirements

  • Available at least two days per week
  • Willing to work from our Amsterdam office

Why this role?

You will gain a unique perspective on how legal information is transformed into structured data used by modern legal technology systems.

Instead of focusing on a single jurisdiction you will work with legal materials from across Europe and beyond while contributing directly to the development of AI-powered legal tools.
